As I frequently get sinusitis, I am delighted to share the following Everyday Health article with you that is most informative.

Mark

November 18th, 2008

From Health Day News

‘Tis the season for a runny nose, cough, sore throat and other symptoms of the common cold.

Q & A: Mobile Speak and the NewsBreak Podcatcher

November 17th, 2008

QUESTION:

Hi Mark.

I installed News Break late last night as instructed i.e. putting the cab file on the storage card and then installing!  I will put in my unlock code which I have later on today.  However when I started the application, it asked me what news feeds I wanted.  I only wanted the BBC news but found that I couldn’t uncheck the other ones.  Is there anything I’m doing wrong?  Also, if I want to add podcast feeds, how would I do it please?

Hope to hear from you soon and many thanks.  Read the rest of this entry »

LETTER: Do Not Drink and Drive My Life Away

November 15th, 2008

My Friend:

It is 3:37am and I am oh so very tired; that is why I am going to enumerate this reply to your voicemail message, OK?

1.
I received your text messages, in addition to your voicemail, earlier today but I was in the middle of posting a new article to my BLOG.  Take a look at it, you may find it useful.

2.
Let me say that my plans have not changed.  In fact, despite the way I feel about your atrocious behavior, it never occurred to me to not accompany you to your appointment, as I promised.  When I give my word, I keep it.  You should know me better than that by now.

3.
I am no longer angry just disgusted and very disappointed in you and your judgment, or lack there of.  Read the rest of this entry »

EMAIL: Pod Catch Me on Your Mobile Phone

November 14th, 2008

Dear X:

This will be my only reply to this thread, where you are concerned, for I will not get into a flaming email exchange with you or anyone else, for that matter.

It seems to me that no matter what I contribute, you find a way to put a negative spin on my efforts.   Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Taking Me And My Epix A Little Higher

November 13th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

Today’s little tale is the tale of a Taylor-man who purchased the new Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone who, upon arriving back at home after the once-in-a-lifetime experience, discovered that unlike his first true love, the Samsung Blackjack II, which was able to obtain a full cellular signal from within his home office, the very posh and very hot and very sleek and very shiny and very slim and very heavy and very cool and very groovy Epix, at best, was able to barely inch into the slow lane of the cellular freeway with 1-bar of signal strength; and even then only at the right time of day with the perfect temperature and held at just the right pitch while being pointed at the Southern Lights, kind-of but not really but sort-of, maybe, sometimes.  (I wonder if this is the longest sentence I’ve ever written?  I’ll have to think about that.)

Oh Dear!  What to do?  Hmmmm!   Read the rest of this entry »

TWO GLASSES OF WINE

November 13th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

Generally speaking, I do not pass on emails that somehow make their way across the Internet because, generally speaking, I hate having my Inbox flooded with unsolicited material, useful or not.  However, a friend sent the following little tidbit to me and it made me stop, look around, smile and remember.  I hope it will do the same for you.

Enjoy,

Time Enough At Last, Part Two

November 11th, 2008

Hello Again, Everyone:

I am fortunate enough to have friends that live in various countries throughout the world.  When I was younger, it seems, I never had any problem remembering how to calculate the time zone differences between our respective countries.

Nowadays I cannot seem to calculate the timezone difference between Los Angeles and San Francisco, California.  (Smile)

For those of you who are like me, you know, the “Time Zone Challenged”, allow me to introduce World Time Server.  Read the rest of this entry »

Just A Minute, AT&T Wireless

UPDATE NOTE:

Before reading further, Click Here to see an update to the following information.

Hello Everyone,

One thing I have noticed on my new Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone (Blackjack 3) is, with the installation of Code Factory’s Mobile Speak software for the blind and low vision, the volume level of the first two or three seconds of the incoming call notification is very, very low.  I suppose this has something to do with the type of sound card used on the Epix.  Read the rest of this entry »

While this document is based on the new Samsung Epix SgH-i907 Smartphone (Windows Mobile Professional 6.1), the same or similar steps may be taken on many Windows Mobile Smartphones or wireless devices:  Read the rest of this entry »
